One Minute With God

Imagine God draping His arm around your shoulders every morning, and then telling you one thing. What if He told you one thing, every day, that is true; one thing that could transform your outlook on life? And what if it only took Him one minute? That’s what "One Minute With God" is all about. Every verse in the Bible comes straight from the heart of God. Every passage contains God-breathed words meant to encourage His children (Romans 15:4). God promises that the time we spend in His Word will be worth our while: "As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:10-11). How exciting! Let’s spend one minute with God together.

never alone

We are never alone, never ever alone.

"It is the Lord who goes before you.
He will be with you;
He will not leave you or forsake you.
Do not fear or be dismayed."
Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV

God's plan

There is peace in the realization
that whatever we are going through
is part of God's plan.
And He has already worked it out for our good.

"God meant it for good."
Genesis 50:20 ESV

every place

God only puts us in places
He'd like His goodness shown.

"So...whatever you do,
do all to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

this day

It's good to trust God with the future,
but He longs for us to depend on Him each day.

"Give us this day our daily bread."
Matthew 6:11 ESV

sides

When we must choose sides,
it's wise to choose wisely.

"Who is on the Lord's side?"
Exodus 32:26 ESV

good day

There's no doubt about it--
our best days begin with God.

"Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days."
Psalm 90:14 NIV

the best life

The best life begins with prayer.

"For everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord
will be saved."
Romans 10:13 ESV

sin help

The One who saved us from our sins
is able to keep us from them also.

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable
to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who
in every respect has been tempted as we are,
yet without sin. Let us then with confidence
draw near to the throne of grace, that we may
receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
Hebrews 4:15-16 ESV

not for better or worse

An attitude that we are better than someone else,
could get us into all sorts of trouble.

"For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."
Luke 18:14 ESV

stand and resist

Satan tempts us where he thinks we are weak.
Let's prove him wrong.

"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary
the devil prowls around like a roaring lion,
seeking someone to devour. Resist him,
firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds
of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood
throughout the world. And after you have suffered
a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you
to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore,
confirm, strengthen, and establish you."
1 Peter 5:8-10 ESV

the difference

Christians are different--
the Creator of the world goes with them
everywhere they go.

"For how shall it be known that I have
found favor in your sight, I and your people?
Is it not in your going with us,
so that we are distinct, I and your people,
from every other people on the face of the earth?"
Exodus 33:16 ESV

so many blessings

God is not obligated to bless us--
yet He does again and again and again.

"For surely, O Lord, You bless the righteous;
You surround them with Your favor
as with a shield."
Psalm 5:12 NIV

goals

One day we will stand before God;
let's make it our goal to see Him smile.

"We are confident, I say, and would prefer
to be away from the body
and at home with the Lord.
So we make it our goal to please Him,
whether we are at home in the body
or away from it."
2 Corinthians 5:8-9 NIV

our sorrow and His

We can trust those who weep with us.

"When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews
who had come along with her also weeping,
He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.
'Where have you laid him?' He asked.
'Come and see, Lord,' they replied. Jesus wept."
John 11:33-35 NIV

life and happiness

Jesus offers the one thing
we desire more than happiness--
life!

"Jesus said to her,
'I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in Me will live,
even though he dies;
and whoever lives and believes in Me
will never die.
Do you believe this?'"
John 11:25 NIV

help

We can trust God to help us,
when we have no strength left to help ourselves.

"Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak."
Isaiah 40:28a, 29 NIV

on sharing

The gospel has not lost its power--
so go ahead, share it.

"I am not ashamed of the gospel,
because it is the power of God
for the salvation of everyone who believes."
Romans 1:16a NIV

faithful God

God is faithful to keep His people faithful--
we can count on that.

"I will make an everlasting covenant with them:
I will never stop doing good to them,
and I will inspire them to fear me,
so that they will never turn away from me.
I will put my Spirit in you
and move you to follow my decrees
and be careful to keep my laws."
Jeremiah 32:40, Ezekiel 36:27 NIV
